Can I make a map service transparent by default?

Is it possible to change the default transparency of a map service from 0% to some other value so that layers appear transparent without the users having to use the slider?

  Hi Megan,

   

  Please see:

   

  Essentials Manager > Map > Map Service tab > edit map service > Display Settings > Opacity
