Connecting to NearMap
Has anyone been able to connect to the NearMap REST endpoint? I'm able to do it via ArcMap, but not via GCE. In ArcMap, it was just the endpoint URL and AGOL username/pass, but those aren't working when setting up the connection in GCE. NearMap has no experience with Geocortex, so they aren't much help. They suggest setting up our own portal server. Seems like overkill for a rest connection.

Ethan - Do you have access to their WMS services or just the REST? 0 -
We created an API key from the Nearmap web site and added that to the WMS eg (https://wms.nearmap.com/wms?REQUEST=GetCapabilities&apikey=keygoeshere) https://wms.nearmap.com/wms?REQUEST=GetCapabilities&apikey=keygoeshere
https://docs.nearmap.com/display/ND/APIS
Then I just created a Catalog Site using the NearMap WMS for use in one of my Viewres.0 -
Yes, I have access to their WMS, but that also results in a "Connection Failed" error. Further, the WMS service (when it was working) has a very low resolution background on it outside of their coverage area that obscures other basemaps (when mapping and area that is only partially covered by NearMap). 0 -
Ethan, have you had any luck? Ive been able to get the most recent imagery in my GCE Sites without a problem using the exact same method Chris described here.
Chris - have you (or anyone else) figured out a wa to use the WMS connection to get historical imagery, not just the most recent one? Im guessing it must be an argument(s) within the API key, but Im not finding any info from the Nearmap documentation on the WMS API key. Would the TIle API or the WMTS be needed?0 -
I finally got it with their Web Tiled Layer service using the url below.

Hi Andrew
Using the url I mentioned above with the generated API key I was able to see all nearmap imagery. I basically then just created a layer catalog site with only the imagery (including historic) for the area of interest, in our case South Austalia. I have to admit the the index of the imagery that come directly from the nearmap API isnt very neat or friendly or indeed logical. So you may need to move some of the imagery around in the layer list to make it nicer for users.0 -
Here are a couple of articles I was able to use to bring the custom WMS ( APIKEY-based) into Geocortex. Attention, this will only work in the HTML5 viewer!
