What is ImageMagick?

A process called ImageMagick was hogging the CPU on our server, is this process used by Geocortex?

  Hi Chelsea,

   

  Image Magick is a third party program that we use in Geocortex Essentials to generate composite images for large-format printing.  It is only used when Print Jobs are enabled.

   

  This can be an intensive process, since the images that we generate end up being much larger than an average screen image or digital photo.

   

  Do you have large-format print jobs enabled and users who are generating PDFs?

  Hi Malcolm, 

   

  Thanks for the quick response! That makes sense. We do have print jobs enabled, but I guess users haven't generated them too often. Our networking team alerted me to the abnormal server activity, but I'll let them know it's legit.
