GetBytesFromBase64String activity has not been implemented

Hello, has anyone have success with GetBytesFromBase64String?

 

I'm trying to get the byte array from a file of file picker. What I did is GetBase64StringFromFile -> GetBytesFromBase64String. However, the workflow returns error "GetBytesFromBase64String activity has not been implemented". I tested it with a simple Base64String 'SEVMTE8=' which is HELLO, and it gave the same error message. I'm wondering what I did wrong here. Thank you.

  Hi Jack,

  Thank you. I tried GetBytesFromBase64String activity on-prem 5.12, and not work to me either. I will report the issue. Our developer will look into it.

  Hi Jack,

  with our developer's help, actually it is my workflow issue. and the activity works. I didn't get GetBytesFromBase64String activity has not been implemented the error.

  if it is possible, you can attach your workflow. we can take a look.

  hi Long, thanks for the response. I imported your workflow to SaaS version Workflow designer, and tried running it in the Sandbox site in Chrome, and got the same error.

  Hi Jack,

   

  Get Byes From Base64 String and the inverse activity are server activities and cannot be run through the SaaS environment. They should not be appearing in SaaS; we'll file an issue to hide them.

  Hi Jack,

   

  A slightly correction on this. Depending on what platform you have defined for your workflow within the Deployment panel, this activity can still be used. In this case, if you planned on running this activity on Mobile, the workflow would complete successfully.

  Thanks Stefan. That answers my question. It would be good in the future the help doc can specify on which platform the activity works.

  Hi , we wanted to convert string to bytes before add features to a feature service.

  We have a blob column to which we need to insert the converted bytes getting  GetBytesFromBase64String activity has not been implemented the error. please help
