    Bob,

    My experience has some similarity to yours and I still have not figured out how to fix it.  What happened was I had hyperlinks in my footer - configured through the JSON file - but when I upgraded from 4.10 to 4.12 they no longer appear in the footer, eventhough they are still configured in the JSON.

    Lee,

    Thanks for your reply.  That seems to point to a possible bug with the new version.

    Hi Lee and Bob,

    We have an issue filed for this and I've added your names to the list of stakeholders. GE 4.11/GVH 2.12.1 will load the hyperlinks correctly, but not in the releases since then unfortunately.

    Thanks, Stefan

    Thanks for your reply.  Any idea when we will see the fix?

    Stefan,

    With the short time we have been working with Geocortex, this is the 2nd time we have encountered a functionality working then not work with an the next upgrade.  It would be nice to test my sites with a new version to make sure all is working well before we go live with it.  Also, I need to be able to update current sites but not make them live until they have been tested.  It seems that having  multiple instances of Essentials installed is a way to handle both issues.  How many instances can be installed?  Can the other instance(s) have a different version installed?  Can I then copy a site I'm developing into my live instance?  I can't seem to find any documentation installing a new instance, could you please direct me?  Thanks!

    Hi Bob,

    I'm sorry that you've encountered issues while upgrading. There are a few options for testing upgrades before going live:

    1. You can install multiple instances of Essentials on the same server by creating named instances through these steps. There is no limit to the number of instances that can be installed. Both instances can share the same Sites directory as well if you wish. One consideration is that because Essentials is dependent upon Geocortex Core, if you are installing multiple versions of Essentials, this is only suggested to be done with more recent versions (released versions from the past year) to avoid any versioning issues. The most foolproof option would be to use a separate server or VM as a testing server, copy your production sites over, upgrade them, then upgrade your production server and copy the upgraded site back over.

    2. Most of the future releases of Essentials will be focused on GVH functionality, so installing multiple instances of the viewer might be more useful. When you deploy the templates in the Post Installation step, if you name the deployed template directory to something like Html5Viewer_4_12_1, then when you load the site, you can change the URL that is loaded and compare the behaviour.

    Thanks, Stefan

    it seems that the button class has been set to

    class="list-menu-button bound-disabled"

    whereas it should be

    class="list-menu-button bound-enabled"

    Is there no workaround for this, rather than waiting for the next full release? Also when is 4.13 planned to be released?

    Hi Ben and Halil,

    I've added your names to the list of stakeholders.

    We have this item planned for the next minor release but I can't provide a specific release date, but will likely be several months away.

    Thanks, Stefan

    Is there a way to put *any* text in the footer? We used to link to a disclaimer, but since we can't do that anymore we would like to put disclaimer text in the footer.
