How to catch a failed WebRequest

With Workflow 5 in GVH, it looks as if a failure in a Send Web Request activity stops the entire workflow, even if it's inside a Try...Catch. There's just an alert with 'The application is experiencing issues while performing the operation'.

I'm using GVH Viewer 2.11.2.1552

I found out that the WF only stops if I try to access properties from the WebRequest activity inside Catch (e.g. the HTTP response).
