Possible to edit AGO Hosted Feature layer via workflow in Essentials site?
Basically what it says in the title. We're exploring different ways of hosting/working data for a project. I'm assuming the answer is no, since the feature editing tools in workflow are specific to ArcGIS Server. Is this possible in Workflow 5?
Any advice is appreciated!

Hi Emily,
You can indeed edit an AGOL feature layer with geocortex workflow. It would simply consume the service from an AGOL endpoint rather than than your ArcGIS Server.
If your layer is secured/protected and not shared publically, you'll just need to register your GCX Essentials installation with AGOL in the post-install config step. This will allow users to sign-in to your GCX application with their AGOL credentials and edit the features. The alternaitve is to expose the layer publically (but this doesn't sound like it would be feasible).

So fun fact, but actually it does need to be shared publicly. The project is on behalf of our County Clerks department. They're looking for an application where members of the public can add themselves to a Permanent Absentee Ballot list. We're looking at using a hosted feature layer because we're not sure how we feel about having a publicly editable feature class in our enterprise geodatabase. This all might change though, we're still in the exploration stages yet.
We like the fact that with hosted feature layers, you can make it so editors (public users) can add records but can't see anything else. It sounds like this has merit after all, and I'm looking forward to testing it out. Thanks so much for your answer!0
