    Hi Berend,

    Is this an AGOL basemap?

Did you get a sign in prompt?

You will need to sign in with AGOL to download an AGOL basemap for offline.

Yes, it's an AGOL basemap (here), but we're using Portal logins in Go.

I did get an extra login prompt a few days ago, but it didn't work then either, although I don't know if it was the same problem. Now, there's no login prompt any more.

Can you try using these instructions to take the basemap offline?

Note, I haven't actually tried this myself.

    Jeff,

Thanks, I tried the option 'Do not store credentials with service item. Prompt for authentication everytime' but that does not seem to make a difference. Is Go supposed to ask for credentials?

I won't be able to look into this before next week, due to a national holiday, but I'll post my findings here.

I think you will have difficulty trying to get an authentication challenge to work given that you are using Portal. We do not normally expect apps to be using both Portal AND AGOL (it's normally one or the other). eg. In order to support logging in with multiple systems, you would need to have the app-id/client-id supplied for both systems. Designer does not support this model. You may be able to get it to work by hand editing the app.json. I suggest you do use the option to store the credentials.

Did you add the new item to the map? Can you see it online in Go?

I tried the instructions in the linked article, and it works if I set the credentials beforehand (in Portal). This could be used as a workaround, but I can't find a way to change the credentials, for instance if the password was modified.

If I select 'Do not store credentials with service item. Prompt for authentication everytime', I'd expect Go to ask for credentials, but that doesn't happen.

It would be a nice addition if Go supported this, because I really thinks using Portal in combination with a basemap from AGOL, is a common use case.
