Alert Message Keeps Disappearing
We have a site we're going to retire soon and want to put an alert message up when clients open the site as well as giving them them a link to the new map. Something like this:
IMPORTANT: This site will be retired on September 1, 2020.
Please begin using the new version: https://webmap/reallyfun/abcdefghijklmnop
Once the new map is opened, please update your browser bookmarks.
Ideally, the alert flashes on the screen, the client reads it and clicks 'OK' to close the box, and continues their mapping adventure.
The issue I seem to be having is the alert flashes for less than a second and then disappears because the items in the map are trying to load. The user never gets a chance to read it, it's gone so fast.
Does anyone have a workflow example for a simple message?

How is your current alert message configured? If it is an Alert activity in a workflow, you would have to click OK to close the alert? 0 -
Hi Nico! Yes it's just a simple alert and the user clicks the OK. Is that what I need to add to the workflow? I've attached an image but I can also attache the workflow if need be. 0 -

Are you still experiencing issues with this? Have you tried using this Code Gallery Example? You can modify the message contained to display whatever you need.

Hi Stephanie, I ended up using the Home Panel to get the message visible upon opening. I’m all good now, thanks. John 0
