How to remove "ghost" layers from Mobile Viewer Designer
I recently changed the referenced map of one of my GCX Mobile app, but the name of some layers of the previous map remains in the designer (in "Layer Extensions") . These layers don't appear in Geocortex Go, however they appear in the app.json file.
Is it a known bug ? How could I delete these ghost layers from the designer ?

Hi Guillaume,
If you want to retain your existing configuration on other layers, you can export the app, edit the app.json file to remove them, then import the app back into Designer. Note that we currently retain old configuration in the case of a layer temporarily becoming unavailable, as opposed to being removed, in case it is needed but it will not cause any issues with functionality in the viewer. Another option would be to re-add the web map, which would remove the extra configuration.
Thanks, Stefan

I'd already tried your first option, but it didn't work as expected because there was an error due to an extra directory created during the zipping process.
But now it's ok!
Re-adding the web map didn't remove the extra configuration...
Thx for your answer !

No worries, glad to hear it is working correctly now. For re-adding the web map, you may need to switch to a different web map, then switch back (might need to save with the temporary web map) for it to take.

I noticed similar behavior in the web designer. There are items referenced in the json that no longer exist in the map or even in portal. The sublayer extensions still refer to them to and you get warnings as a result. I think removing an re-adding the map and the panel map has worked as a workaround. Although they still exist as ghosts in the layer extensions.

I also noticed the same behavior in the web designer. I tried to remove and re-add the Map, but the ghost layers still show up in the extensions.

Hi Everyone,
Improved handling of removed layers from the web map are planned for inclusion in the 5.13 release.
Thanks, Stefan

@Stefan Schweigert? thanks for the update.
When is the 5.13 released planned for?
Also, this might have been brought up to your attention already, but there are a couple more observations (issues) related to ghost layers.
When I remove layers from web map, in the Geocortex Viewer I am getting an error about removed layers, but it only shows long ID. Layer name would be nice.
Also, it would be great to have an ability to reload/reselect the web map in the viewer without losing all the identify/search settings. Or have an option in the Viewer to remove the layers that are no longer in the web map.
Thanks,
Nataliya

Hi Nataliya,
5.13 is scheduled for a mid-June release.
Can you provide details on the layers that were removed? We try to display the name of the layer within the web map when available so I'm interested to know why this isn't happening in your case.
The implementation of the reload web map feature will keep any settings updated on the configured layers.
Thanks, Stefan

@Stefan Schweigert? I just have a regular Map service. I added all the layers originally and then I removed layers with IDs: 0, 2,16
