Clear Highlight From Selected Features

As other's have on here, I'm building a workflow that will allow my users to essentially "Clear All". It will clear/cancel any searches, results, results view, table view etc...

 

What I'm struggling with is clearing the highlights of any features that are currently selected or starred. I've tried just about everything I can think from trying to delete the selection entirely, removing focus, than clearing highlights and nothing...

 

I can mimic the steps manually in the viewer if I got to my selection and deselect features from selection and than clear it, but I can't figure out what command or commands to do the same thing.

 

Any pointers would be appreciated. Thanks.

  Hi Justin - Did you get an answer on this? I'm struggling with an old workflow that used to successfully clear highlights, but now its stopped working for some reason.
