Noticed that we have been using a Mobile map with GeocortexGo on the iPad. works great except I now notice that the disk usage is maxing out. Is there a way to clear this? No offline use either. Just daily caching.

Hi Jeff,
During the use of mobile devices, different applications will dynamically allocate memory onto the disk during use to improve performance. I've noticed that its a common issue with all apps when the device is full or nearly full. Some of this space is cleared out by closing all open applications or restarting the device but the best option is to ensure that there is at least a few GB free.
Thanks, Stefan

I agree on this but in comparison with GMAF GeocortexGo uses at least 10 times the amount of disk space. GeocortexGo is definitely easier to use and loads quicker but seems to hold onto storage space. GMAF seemed to always use the same amount and release space occasionally.

For sure. The underlying Esri API (Runtime 100.x) and framework (Xamarin) of Geocortex Go are completely different from GMAF and the capabilities of Go are much greater and most of the memory and disk management are done by the API.

Just testing on a couple iPads, I've got users that already have 17GB of data associated with GeocortexGo and it keeps going up. Having larger memory devices will only delay the problem. Rebooting, even hard reset doesn't free up storage. Only answer right now is to delete and re-add the GeocortexGo app. I really would like a better resolution to this.

Ahh, that sounds like an entirely different issue you are experiencing; I was speaking in terms of 1 GB at an absolute most.
We haven't seen this issue before; can you provide some specific details:
- What iPad models are you seeing this on?
- Are you seeing a similar issue on Windows or Android?
- Are you using MMPKs or web maps to load the mapping data?
- Can you check the Log Viewer from the Settings panel and send any error messages that might be appearing in there?

Also, has this issue been occurring for some time or did it just recently start happening, possibly after an upgrade of GXM or the device OS, change in the web map data, etc.?

One last question... are the end users using Workflow's File Picker to upload attachments to a feature server? We are aware of an issue where the file will be uploaded to the server but a copy will also be stored on the device. If you plug the device into a PC with iTunes on it then load Go, you'll be able to see if the files have been saved locally as well.

No attachments or MMPKs. We are only deploying on iPads, 7th and 8th gen all running 14.5-14.6. Only 1 workflow that was Latitude designed but I can see the storage increasing even without using the workflow. Just simply clicking on points and polygons to get attribute information. We just started using the GeocortexGo for the last 2 months so I would say that it has been an issue since we started.

I have an ipad that i just recently uninstalled/reinstalled the Go app and just clicking around its already around 400MB listed in the iPad storage. I hooked to iTunes, went to file sharing and that only contains around 800Kb of files.

Hi Jeff,
Thanks for these details; they are very helpful. Are there a large number of map areas of considerable size that are downloaded on the device, possibly through multiple apps?
Thanks, Stefan.

We've done some testing specific to this area and are noticing a small increase in disk usage from regular use that we've assigned a developer to look into. If there are any particular actions that you are able to detect an increase in disk usage, please let us know the details.
