In the update default template you'll find them in the Draw submenu of the toolbar
If you want to add them to an existing app, add a menu item (toolbar, i want to menu, button) and you will see these new tools.

Correct, point symbolization will follow along soon but points are quite different in terms in terms of interface and options. There are standard shapes as well as picture marker symbols to figure out.
