Set Layer Definition not honored in WAB (on prem)

The same exact workflow that is able to set the definition query in GC Web does not work in WAB. Per the help, WAB is supported for this activity. In the case below, I am removing all features as a test.When I print (Alert) the old def query and the new def query from the Set Layer Definition outputs, there are no values in WAB... but I see the values in the Alert activities in GC Web.

  I opened a support ticket on this one. Apparently, you must use the Get Layer activity first, and feed those outputs into the Set Layer Definition activity in WAB. This is not needed in GC Web, just WAB.
