Essentials failed to upgrade from 4.13 to 4.14 and return "Unable to remove old version of Geocortex Essentials"
When upgrade from 4.13 to 4.14 on a machine that has three Geocortex Essentials instances (all in 4.13) . We're able to upgrade two of them, but the last one failed before it install the new version and returned "Unable to remove old version of Geocortex Essentials". I have searched the forum but couldn't find any related post. Has anyone got this issue before? thanks.

I could fix this by launching the msi installer through PowerShell

Philippe Van De Vreken: We are updrading Essentials from 14.4 to 15.1, and having the same issue. And tried your way using PowerShell to run msi installer, and it works!! Thank you so much for your post.

We also encountered this issue and found another workaround is to run the .msi as a different user with admin privileges, via shift-right click menu
