Create a startup Workflow using Web Appbuilder

In Essentials, we can specify workflows to run when the site loads. Is this possible using Web AppBuilder? 

I would assume there's a way to trigger a widget at runtime within the configuration of the site, but thought I'd ask before I went on a hunt to find it.
