Now Available: VertiGIS Studio Web 5.41
Now Available: VertiGIS Studio Web 5.41
(released as 5.41.1 - there was no 5.41.0 released)
This release of VertiGIS Studio Web brings significant enhancements to our printing capabilities and upgrades our core mapping infrastructure. Version 5.41 delivers advanced print actions, introduces dynamic 3D basemaps, and implements strict print output validation, ensuring high-quality, reliable results alongside numerous platform stability updates.
✨ New Features
- Optional Output Validation for Printing Web: Administrators can now enable strict output validation to ensure that all expected content can be fetched from the Esri endpoints before generating a print. Prints take approximately 20% longer when this validation is enabled, and the print job will safely fail if validation does not pass, preventing incomplete maps from being distributed.
- Advanced Printing Actions: We have added support for creating single, grid, or line-based prints directly originating from feature selections, query results, or identify results in Printing Web. Administrators can enable this capability by adding "Print" to the "Result Actions" for a specific "Layer" under the "Map" element.
- Topographic 3D Basemap: Administrators can now enable the use of Living Atlas 3D Basemaps, providing users with rich context when working within 3D scenes.
🛠️ Behavioral Changes and UX Improvements
- Enhanced 2D Polygon Labeling: Map text remains highly legible during navigation with the introduction of automatic repositioning and dynamic anchoring for polygon labels.
🚀 Security and Technology
- ArcGIS Maps SDK Update: The underlying mapping engine has been updated to ArcGIS Maps SDK for JavaScript 5.
- Studio Workflow Update: The platform has been updated to deeply integrate with VertiGIS Studio Workflow 5.50.
- Uploads Capability for Printing: Studio Web now supports the ArcGIS "Uploads" capability, allowing the client to send massive, high-resolution print requests without hitting standard environment size limitations.
🐞 Bug Fixes
This release includes numerous fixes that improve stability and performance across the platform. Key issues addressed include a critical fix where the application would freeze when a printing layout lacked the mandatory WEBMAP_MAP_FRAME element. We have resolved issues with DXF file imports failing on specific spatial references and causing a loss of formatting, as well as KML imports causing memory crashes. The Filter Builder and Cascading Search have received updates to fix SQL validation errors when using underscores and Layer Presets. Additionally, we have corrected map rendering behaviors, ensuring that highlighted features do not lose transparency or shift colors when zooming, and we have improved the overall responsiveness of the Result List when handling a massive number of features.
