Now Available: VertiGIS Studio Printing 5.30
We're pleased to announce the release of version 5.30 of VertiGIS Studio Printing.
New Features
- [Designer] A warning is now shown when a layout has been created or modified outside the Printing Designer. We strongly recommend sticking to one type of editor (Studio Printing Designer vs. ArcGIS Pro directly) consistently for any given layout. Best practices regarding different editing tools and layout conversion limitations are described here . [365571]
- [Installer] When installing the ArcGIS pro-based Engine on-premises, the minimal number of SOCs of the GP-Service is now set to 2 to prevent cold‑start delays. [368708]
- [SaaS] The standard web app templates in VertiGIS Studio Web now contain the new ArcGIS Pro-based 'Demonstration' printing layouts instead of the legacy printing templates. [362209]
- [SaaS] The 'Upload' capability has been added to the Printing Gen2 SaaS instance, aligned with the capability that can be enabled for on-premises Esri GP-Services. This allows sending much larger print requests from Studio Web. [318075] [364635]
- [SaaS] A fixed set of IP-adresses has been assigned to our Printing gen2 SaaS instances. This resolves an issue where the generation of a print could fail when map services enforce geo-blocking or IP allow-listing. Customers using allowlists may need to add: 135.236.7.93, 51.124.49.217, 52.157.250.31 and 20.93.194.196. [362889]
- [SaaS] Subdomain support is now available for Printing SaaS. Please contact VertiGIS Support to register a subdomain that let you couple our SaaS offerings with your local ArcGIS Portal, see details. [323665]
Behavioral Changes and UX Improvements
- [Installer] The installer UI now consistently uses the product name 'VertiGIS Studio Printing Designer', aligned with the MSI file name. [362109]
- [Designer] Printing layout parameter 'visible' and 'enabled' properties are now correctly honored in VertiGIS Studio Web. [364011]
- [Designer] Printing Designer can now be opened with a specific layout or layout package prepopulated. [361133]
- [Designer] Instead of a popup, a button 'Click to open' with a PDF link is now displayed one a preview for a ArcGIS Pro-based layout has been generated. [358678]
- [SaaS] Completed print results are now moved to durable storage, enabling repeat downloads. This fixes issues when requesting a download from the "History" tab more than once. [368039]
Security and Technology
- [Security] Addressed reported security vulnerabilities in third‑party dependencies, including 3 critical, 18 high and 10 moderate CVEs.
Details
- [SaaS] A recycling policy for ArcGIS Pro-based worker processes is now implemented to periodically refresh the instances. [369704]
Bug Fixes
- [Designer] Legacy templates can no longer be converted multiple times, preventing duplicate layout portal items. [362890]
- [Designer] Batch conversion now lists templates correctly for accounts with large numbers of saved templates. [364200]
- [Designer] Layout packages now close correctly when no default layout or title is referenced. [370944]
- [Designer] The required type keyword is now included when saving layout packages. [369252]
- [Designer] Warning messages are now visible in light mode. [368639]
- [Designer] Dashboard layout templates now update correctly when switching between Gen1 and Gen2 in on‑premises environments. [370837]
- [Engine CIM3] Batch conversion no longer returns the unnecessary warning 'key @Type not found in layout JSON'. [365187]
- [Engine CIM3] Layouts created in Printing Designer or converted from print templates now generate output correctly. [274932]
- [Installer] CIM v3 Engine now loads layout templates correctly when a datastore is configured. [367934]
- [SaaS] Large numbers of legend items no longer cause compute timeouts. [370103]
- [SaaS] Job polling no longer returns 500‑series errors on worker retry. [370004]
- [SaaS] The Gen2 SaaS print engine no longer fails when certain geo‑blocked services are included. [362889]

Printing 5.30.1 - 21 April 2026
Bug Fixes
•[Engine CIM2] Fixed an issue where the Studio Printing CIM v2 installer for standalone ArcGIS Server failed to run correctly. [376059]0 -
As documented in the release notes, this Printing 5.30.1 hotfix release exclusively addresses a regression affecting only the CIM v2 installer. There are no new or changed features in this release for the CIM v3 variant.
While the CIM v2 Printing engine is rarely used, it remains necessary for environments that rely on legacy components (which for example is relevant for WebOffice). For this reason, a timely fix was required.
Note on installation issues (Printing 5.30.x):
We have received reports of an issue related to the installation directory when upgrading to Printing version 5.30.x. In some cases, two separate installation folders are present, which is not expected:
C:\Program Files\VertiGIS\VertiGIS Studio Printing
C:\Program Files\VertiGIS\VertiGIS Studio Printing Designer
An upcoming hotfix will address this issue.

A customer tried to install both printing designer 5.30 and 5.30.1. They were unable to complete the post installer. Connection to the app item in portal always failed. They had to go back to Printing 5.29.0 to get a working Printing installation.
Have anyone experienced this? Are there some differences between the versions where the installer is called VertiGIS-Studio-Printing (up to 5.29.0) and the versions with installers called VertiGIS-Studio-Printing-Designer (from 5.29.1) that could explain this?

Hello Jostein Svegården,
We were able to confirm and address the problem you describe.
Please await the upcoming 5.30.2 hotfix release.0 -
Hi Jostein Svegården,
To add to Jakob's comment, the issue shouldn't actually prevent you from using 5.30.0 or 5.30.1, as it's only a problem with the “Test” button in the Post Installer. If the Portal connection is set up properly, you can just ignore the error that pops up and complete the Post Installer. Printing Designer should load and function properly.
I hope that helps!

Alisa, that was not what this customer experienced. They got this when trying to access printing designer after error with the test button:

Thanks for the info Jostein Svegården . That looks like it's coming from a separate issue. The Portal step of the Post Installer handles authentication, so problems with it typically result in invalid redirect URI or invalid client ID errors when trying to sign in. The error message you posted looks more like a Printing Engine connection issue to me. Could you please open a support ticket for this?
