Now Available: VertiGIS Studio Web 5.40
This release of VertiGIS Studio Web empowers end-users with greater control over data visualization and integration, while delivering critical updates to platform stability and mapping infrastructure. Version 5.40 introduces runtime-editable graduated symbology, support for DXF file imports, and dynamic layer addition via URLs, alongside improvements to printing reliability and query validation.
✨ New Features
- Graduated Symbol Sizes (Runtime Editable): Studio Web has long supported graduated symbol rendering, but this release introduces the ability for end‑users to change symbol size classes at runtime, making thematic visualization more interactive and adaptable.
- Graduated Color Symbology (Runtime Editable): End‑users can now adjust class breaks and color ramps at runtime for more dynamic thematic styling, allowing for on-the-fly customization of data presentation.
- DXF Import: Users can now import and visualize DXF files directly at runtime, improving CAD interoperability and expanding the range of supported data sources for ad-hoc visualization.
- Add Layers at Runtime via Service URL: End‑users can now add map service layers dynamically by entering a service URL during runtime. This feature supports "Quick Add" and "Guided Add" workflows for public datasets, enabling flexible integration of external data without administrator intervention.
🛠️ Behavioral Changes and UX Improvements
- Bottom Panel Resizability: The bottom panel behavior has been improved and is once again fully resizable after closing a docked panel, ensuring a smoother user interface experience.
🚀 Security and Technology
- Calcite Scalebar: The existing scalebar has been replaced with a modern Calcite‑based component, offering improved UI consistency with Esri's design system and better performance.
- OpenBasemap Adoption: The retired OpenStreetMap basemap has been replaced with the new OpenBasemap service to ensure long‑term compatibility and reliable global basemap coverage.
- Workflow Integration: The platform has been updated to integrate with VertiGIS Studio Workflow 5.49.
🐞 Bug Fixes
This release includes numerous fixes that improve stability and performance across the platform. Key issues addressed include problems with App Designer configuration persistence, specifically regarding Layer List settings and orphaned overview maps. We have resolved significant stability issues in Printing, including infinite polling loops and missing content in overview maps. The Query and Filter tools have received updates to fix SQL validation errors, timestamp casting, and UI state handling. Additionally, we have corrected data import behaviors for shapefiles with inconsistent casing, improved the rendering of Arcade-based popup titles and related record labels, and fixed deployment gaps where layout packages were missing during Test-to-Production promotions.
