Now Available: VertiGIS Studio Desktop 2.0
This release of VertiGIS Studio Desktop delivers a major overhaul to printing workflows, editing operations, application configuration and composite labeling. Version 2.0 is built for ArcGIS Pro 3.5 and introduces automated content management for Map Books, sophisticated dimensioning tools, and a centralized user experience.
✨ New Features and UX Improvements
Automated Map Book & Layout Package Management: The system now automatically distinguishes between Map Books and standard Layout Packages via smart Portal tagging [340638]. Additionally, correct thumbnails are now automatically assigned upon creation, ensuring visual clarity in the Layout Browser [341592].
Optimized Print Area Selection: We have significantly improved the usability of the Print Area Selection Tool for Range and Time Series. Range and Time settings have been split into discrete controls for "Min-Max" and "Current Extent" to prevent ambiguity [339479]. Furthermore, a new "Zoom-to-Print Scale" functionality allows users to quickly verify the output scale [319089].
Bypass Multilines Tool: A new editing tool has been implemented to support complex multiline maintenance. This tool specifically handles bypassing operations on parallel line bundles, allowing for cleaner topology in dense areas [338193].
Attribute Form Designer: Version 2.0 introduces the Attribute Form Designer, a powerful new interface for advanced individualization and data configuration, giving administrators granular control over attribute data entry and branding [324047].
CrossLink Integration: We have introduced CrossLink to facilitate object-based application integration, enabling smoother workflows between VertiGIS Studio Desktop and external systems [326468].
Direct GPX Import: The Import Survey Data Tool has been upgraded to enable the direct import of GPX files, streamlining the workflow for incorporating field survey data [314929].
Centralized Settings in ArcGIS Pro: To streamline the configuration experience, all Studio Desktop tool settings have been centralized and harmonized within the standard ArcGIS Pro Options window [298062].
Dimensioning Enhancements: The Dimensioning Editor has received several "quality of life" upgrades. This includes one-click double-underlining for the final Orthogonal segment [336113], one-click zero-point labeling [336121], and improved compatibility when working with mixed Esri and VertiGIS dimension styles [321474].
Bulk Update UI Refactor: The Bulk Update tool has been refactored for a clearer user experience, offering a distinct separation between input methods and output actions [345577]. As part of this clarity update, the "Calculations" label has been renamed to "Statistics" [345576].
Layout Management & Browsing: Managing layouts is now faster and more informative. You can save and load prepared Print Layout Packages for easier re-prints of multi-layout print tasks [243345], and the Layout Browser now includes tooltips showing the 'Layout Template Type' [328002] and utilizes the GisResourceExplorer for faster identification of Portal Layouts [339349].
Map Display Component Selection: The simple component list in the Map Display Editor has been replaced with the GisResourceExplorer, allowing for filtering and faster identification of Portal Components [347205].
Favorites & Offline Access: Users can now "Favorite" items from the Portal, Project, and local folders with one click [308675]. Consequently, the Printing, Map Display, and Layer Preset galleries now default to showing Favorites for quick access [338384]. Additionally, new support for local folders enables better offline management of Studio Items [313874].
Layer Presets: The Layer Presets manager now supports Radio Groups for exclusive layer visibility [337808] and displays informational messages about all saved settings to prevent configuration errors [297553].
Printing Losaic Datasets: Range-Series Printing is now enabled for local Mosaic Datasets [333252].
Manual: Direct access to the Studio Reporting Manual has been added via the Help tab in the ribbon [345854].
