Now Available: VertiGIS Studio Web 5.38
This release of VertiGIS Studio Web delivers a wide range of powerful new capabilities, with major enhancements to application interactivity, search configuration, and overall stability. Version 5.38 introduces a suite of new layer interaction events, a cascading search workflow template for guided queries, and numerous improvements to the printing and App Designer experience.
✨ New Features
- Dynamic Layer Interaction Events: A new suite of event listeners allows for the creation of highly interactive and context-aware applications based on how the end-user interacts with the Layer List. You can now listen for layer clicks, mouse hovers over layers, when a layer is added, and for changes to a layer's definition expression.
- Cascading Search Workflow Template: A new workflow template has been added, making it much easier for an administrator to configure dependent, multi-level search experiences. This allows for the creation of intuitive guided searches where an end-user's selection in one field (e.g., "State") automatically filters the available choices in a subsequent field (e.g., "City").
- Runtime-Configurable Search Options: Certain search options can be configured directly in the live application, giving end-users the flexibility to tailor their search experience on the fly.
- Standardized Printing with Fixed Scales: Support for fixed print scales configuration has been added to improve control over printed map outputs.
- Disable "MAP ONLY" Tab: The administrator now has an option in the App Designer to disable the "MAP ONLY" tab in the results component.
🛠️ Behavioral Changes and UX Improvements
- Case-Insensitive Queries & Auto-Suggestions: The Query Builder now supports case-insensitive queries and auto-suggestions, making the search experience more forgiving and helping the end-user find features without needing to know the exact case or spelling of an attribute.
- Improved Print Layout Packages Filtering: The App Designer now filters portal items to display only general Layout Packages, excluding Map Books, for a cleaner configuration experience.
- Improved Gen1 Layout Identification: Gen1 Legacy Layouts now display a mini icon in the App Designer's List view for easier visual identification.
- Honoring Pop-up Configuration: Added support for configuring standard identify tools to only include layers where pop-ups have been enabled.
- Improved Performance: Enhanced performance when loading a high number of records in the Result Details panel.
