VertiGIS Studio Road Ahead – October 9 Highlights
VertiGIS Studio Road Ahead – October 9 Highlights
WELCOME AND INTRODUCTION
Today’s webinar covers what we’ve done over the past two months, what’s coming next, and a sneak peek at what’s ahead in December’s Road Ahead session.
HEY DID YOU KNOW?
Recently, our partners met in Vienna. We had great discussions, planning sessions, and even a fun hackathon where partners impressed us with creative AI integrations.
Reminder: Studio Web SDK deprecation is planned for February 2026. Please update your code if you’re using the SDK.

We’ve added more communication channels for announcements — release schedules, summaries, and highlights are now pinned in the VertiGIS Studio support page. You can find upcoming release dates for 2026 posted soon — expect similar timing as this year, with releases every two months.
World GIS Day is coming up in November. VertiGIS will host a virtual event to celebrate, highlighting real-world use cases, deep dives into reporting, and customer success stories.

RECENT RELEASE HIGHLIGHTS
Workflow 5.47 – extended button styling and the ability to sandbox workflows within your own app for easier debugging.
Search 1.13 – design improvements, enhanced suggestions, and refined handling of duplicate results.
Web 5.37 – bulk attribute update across layers, KML import with no size limit (but use wisely), and print history to review past print sessions.
Mobile 5.37 – improved local data management with MMPK overviews and storage insights. Drag-and-drop UI updates for easier configuration.
UPCOMING FEATURES AND ROAD AHEAD
Workflow – new documentation examples for activities are live. A community post invites feedback on which activities to prioritize next.
Search – first version of end-user control over the search experience (clear history, toggle suggestions, filter layers). Visual indicators for layers returning suggestions.
Mobile – upgraded to .NET 9 and ArcGIS Maps SDK 200.7, with expanded layer list support for group layers and compatibility validation for iOS/iPadOS 26.
Web – nearly 50 bug fixes, new identify tool options, cascading search templates, fixed print scales, layer-specific event listeners (click, hover, add/remove), and map-only print control.
LIVE DEMOS
Demo of Mobile’s expanded layer list settings and preset configurations.
Demo of Web’s cascading search — using sequential attribute selection to refine results.
Demo of layer event listeners — hover and click interactions for layer visibility and zoom, automatic zoom-to-layer extent on layer addition, and notifications on removal.
FUTURE DEVELOPMENT
Workflow – asynchronous activity support to improve performance by running parallel processes like web requests.
Analytics – custom alarm definitions, improved data retention controls, and more stable connections to ArcGIS Online/Enterprise.
Web – attribute-based symbology, Living Atlas 3D basemap support, Add Layer by Url and export GeoTiff as commands, and printable attribute tables.
Mobile – extended local data management (map areas, base maps, data updates), query definitions in layer presets, sideloadable disconnected reference system, and early work on field-to-office workflows.
Desktop – stability improvements, productivity tools, advanced printing, smart reporting, user guidance via Workflow, and configuration management across Web and Mobile.
RELEASE CALENDAR
Upcoming releases: Studio Web and Mobile 5.38, new printing release, and Studio Desktop release in the coming weeks.
Final 2025 releases expected in December, with new 2026 schedule posted in the next two weeks.
Gen 2 SaaS printing engine expected by early December.
Q&A HIGHLIGHTS
Can end users create their own layer presets? Not currently, but it’s a good idea for future consideration.
Search dialogue features apply to both Esri and Studio Search layers, but suggestion functionality is specific to Studio Search.
Resetting layer definition expressions and styles to default might already be released (commands "layers.reset-definition-expression" and "layers.reset-symbols" released with the 5.36 in June 2025. See more: https://docs.vertigisstudio.com/webviewer/latest/admin-help/standard-commands.html).
If you want to see the demos, and enjoy the entire experience the recording will be available here in about a week:
