Drop Down List 2 dependent on Drop Down List 1 Not Honoring Selection

I have a search form set up that I'm trying to get working. I have two Drop Down Lists. dropDownList1 is supposed to work as a filter for building Type and then dropDownList2 will populate the property names (PropName) for the buildings that fit the Type from the dropDownList1 selection.

Where things are left right now, I have dropDownList1 populating the building type correctly.

dropDownList2 populates all the values from the PropName field successfully, but they are not filtered by the previous selection.

I have the “Depends On dropDownList1” value set for dropDownList2, but it doesn't appear to be working.

Is there a configuration I need to edit for dropDownList2 or the subworkflows? I'm unsure where the workflow is getting hung up.
