Show results in different result component

Hello everyone, 

I would like to show the results from a tasks.identify operation in different results components based on the layer the results come from. Now I know I can do this with Workflow, but I was wondering if I could do it with an API command. I think that would be a more elegant way to do it. I know that you can set the layer sources to identify when using tasks.identify. But I believe this also identifies features when they are not visible. 

Does anyone know a way to split the results of tasks.identify so I can direct them to different results components?"
