Issue with Custom Layer Failing After Map Refresh in Custom Xamarin .NET App
I’m currently developing a mobile solution using VertiGIS Studio Mobile. When I use the Mobile Designer and load my custom map with all its layers, everything functions as expected.
However, when I integrate the same map and layers into my custom Xamarin .NET application, I encounter an issue: after refreshing the map, one of the custom layers fails to load. Interestingly, if I don’t trigger a refresh, the map and all layers load and function properly.
It seems that the problem arises specifically during or after the map refresh operation in the custom implementation. Has anyone else experienced similar behavior, or is there any recommended way to handle custom layers during map refresh events in Xamarin-based applications?
Any guidance or suggestions would be appreciated.

Hi Harshit Soni, I am Jack from the Mobile team here to answer your inquiry.
By “custom Xamarin .NET application,” do you mean…
- you're developing an app using our SDK? If so, I strongly urge you to consider upgrading to Maui with the help of this article written by our lead developer: Converting a VertiGIS Studio Mobile SDK project to .NET MAUI | VertiGIS Studio Developer Center. Support for Xamarin have eneded on 1st of May, 2024. It's very likely that there are many issues that will resolve themselves with the upgrades and enhancements we've done since.
- you're building a custom app through Mobile Designer? If so, also please consider upgrading you installation. We've stopped using Xamarin Forms in 5.32, and we're currently on 5.36.
I'd also like to know more about these “custom layers.” How did you create and modify them? Do they work in AGOL and/or Field Maps? And when they fail to load, do you get any messages in the logs about why they failed to load?
