    Hi Julia,

Thank you for posting to our community! The issue you're describing is a known bug in VertiGIS Studio Workflow (322697: Run Print Workflow Activity Does Not Send Parameters to Printing) that is slated to be fixed in the next release (version 5.46.0).

Please note that the bug fix will not be immediately apparent upon installing the Workflow update since VertiGIS Studio Web comes with a specific Workflow runtime version, meaning the part that actually runs the workflow will not be updated until the subsequent release of VertiGIS Studio Web.

    I hope that helps!

What is the status of this fix?  What versions of workflow and web do we need installed to be able to successfully pass parameters?

    Hi Stephanie Widas

This was fixed in version 5.46.0 of VertiGIS Studio Workflow. The runtime for this version of Workflow was packaged with our 5.37.0 release of VertiGIS Studio Web. You should be able to pass parameters if you update Workflow and Web to these versions.

    Hi,

We have updated everything to these releases and are still unable to pass parameters from Workflow with Print Engine. Has there been a change to how parameters should be passed in Workflow with Print Engine? Or a change to how parameters should be defined in the print templates themselves?

Hi, do you have any news to this case? we are seeing the same issue with the following setup.

    Web 5.36, Workflow 5.45.1, Printing 5.27.2, Printing Engine VertiGIS-Studio-Printing-Engine-v3-5.27.2

This is what was given to me after submitting a trouble ticket. It did fix the issue for us.

The names for the parameters are not the same as the captions you see in the Web Designer. They would need to look at the raw definition somewhere or use the Get Layout Templates Info task to see the proper names.

Opening my print engine templates in ArcGIS Pro revealed the underlying parameters. They are not what you see in Studio Printing. For example, after converting a template to print engine in Studio Printing, the title parameter would look something like Parameters.Title like it did as a legacy template. This isn't actually what it is, like it would have been in the Chromium engine. Upon further inspection in ArcGIS Pro, all the parameters changed to something like title_value, name_value, etc. Using these in workflow fixed the issue. Those parameters could probably be changed in ArcGIS Pro but setting parameters in Studio Printing doesn't seem to do anything.

Feels like VertiGIS gave up on Printing. Figuring out how to use the product properly has always been such a mystery.

Kevin Arden thanks for posting the solution. that's really disappointing that the Printing Designer isn't a complete solution on its own for such a basic process. was finally able to pass parameters to my pro layout!
