Enter to validate/search via a textbox

Hi,

Currently we have a textbox which value is used for a search/query on serveral layers. 

Yet when we press “Enter” the text gets selected instead of validation.

Pressing “Enter” a second time then starts the workflow.

Why is it just selecting the text at the first “Enter"?
