New ArcGIS 11 user types and editing in Geocortex Essentials
We currently use Geocortex Essentials 4.14.5 authenticated with federated Portal 10.9.1 and are in the process of migrating our workflows and reports to their VS versions.
When we federated our server we had to give our users Creator level licenses, which @Gareth Evans kindly helped with back in 2023. This is because the only other user below Creator was Viewer, which was no longer sufficient to edit in Geocortex applications with a federated server. In researching an update to ArcGIS 11, it looks like there are now Mobile Worker and Contributor data types.
Can these data types create & edit features in Geocortex that's authenticated with Portal 11.x? Or do we still need Creator level licenses for those?
Please let me know if there's any other information about our setup you need.
Any help is much appreciated!

This may not be the best advice, but technically one can use a Viewer account and leverage a server workflow that handles database transactions (insert, update, delete). That approach requires a lot more thought and developer expertise than using the default capabilities supported out the box with Web. The main hurdle would be associated to authentication/authorization: just because they can edit with a viewer account, are they allowed to?

Apologies for the late reply Mike! I can see what you mean about leveraging a server workflow. I don't believe my supervisor would have any issue with it. However we once used a loophole that let users with Viewer accounts edit in Vertigis applications, but we lost it when we federated our Portal. I'd be concerned about finding a workaround and then losing any loophole again in the future.
