Using Map Viewer Classic as map source for VSW apps
With VSW being built on the ArcGIS Maps SDK for JavaScript 4.x, is it inadvisable to use map viewer classic to configure the web maps used in VSW apps? My client is at Enterprise 10.9.1, which is when the newer map viewer was released and it is VERY slow compared to an identical layer setup using the classic viewer.
I've not found anything documented about this, so any insight is appreciated. Thanks!

Hey Jack Charde to my knowledge it is acceptable to use the Map Viewer Classic to edit web maps for use in VSW. There was a long period of time (when AGE 10.9 was the current version) that was the “regular” Map Viewer in AGE and the newer one was “beta”, so in that way there has been a long period of time where the Classic Map Viewer was the defacto method.
If you do encounter any specific unexpected behaviour with web maps from the Classic flavour, please do report them to VertiGIS Studio Support for triage.
I should also mention, in my experience, the best tool to use for web maps tends to be ArcGIS Pro as it has a more robust interface for configuration compared to either of the web-based Map Viewers in AGE/AGOL.
