Control Visibility of Webmap Popup Content Items in the Results List and Result Details in Web
PlanifiéeIn VertiGIS Studio Web, the information for each feature that is displayed in the results list, results table, results summary, and result details is configured in the Webmap popup. So for example, it you add a fields list item in the webmap popup for a particular layer, that fields list will always be displayed in the results details in Web. But if you wanted to only use an Arcade text item instead of the fields list in the results details AND you wanted to change the order and visibility of the fields in the results table, this can't be done. Once you add a fields list item to the popup in order to change the order and visibility of the fields in the results table, it will always show up in the result details whether you wanted to display the fields list or not.
It appears that the decision to display certain content items from the webmap popup in the results list and result details specifically was made at some point during development without giving the user the ability to change that. The one exception is for the list summary where you can control to some level which text or Arcade items are displayed for each layer:

It would be extremely helpful to be able to have this same level of control specifically for the results list and result details as well. This would allow the user to configure the items exactly the you want in the webmap popup (text items, Arcade items, fields list, charts, images) but choose exactly where you want these items to be displayed in the different results components in Web.
We had the fine level of control in Essentials but not in Web. This has probably been the most frustrating part of migrating to Web, changing this would go a long way to making the transition much more seamless.

Thanks for taking the time to write a clear description. The pop-up has come a long way since we first started working with it in the webmap years ago … might be time to consider making this an explicit configuration in Web.

Thanks so much for taking the time to take a look at this issue and consider this enhancement for Web. I am happy to provide more details if you would like. Thanks again Cam!

We are moving all configuration from the Vertigis Viewer to the Webmap, and most of the configuration from the Webmap to the Service. This helps a lot to bring the management-time down.
Having as less as possible settings in the Vertigis Viewer dependant on the Webmap makes it much easier to update Services and Webmaps.
So I hope enabling an explicit config does not break default maptip settings from the webmap.

Hi Jasper, May I ask what you mean by moving the configuration from the webmap to the service? I inquire because this is something I wanted to accomplish but through working with ESRI we are unable to configure items like pop-ups in the service level through our ArcGIS Server Map Services. So curious what you're configuring and how your hosting at the service level.
Thanks for any feedback!

We figured out that doing any configuration on a service within the webmap breaks the ability to control settings on the service. The webmap will copy the current service settings to the webmap settings and never look at the service settings again.
So we try to do all config on the service so the webmap does not overwrite these settings.
Visibility of layers
Maptip settings
Styling
Grouping
Field display
Order
Excluding layersOn of the problems we have now is that Vertigis does not look at the webmap to know what features have a Maptip, and will always show maptips for every active feature.
Our services are larger than most - Used to contain up to 300 layers - scaling down now to 30 layers per service. And more dynamic. Layers are added, changed, removed on a weekly interval. So changing settings would give a lot of work.

Hey Cam, just following up on this request. Has there been any work done to incorporate these changes into a future release of Web? Thanks so much for considering this enhancement!
