Filter data using Max function in Reporting

Hi,

I need to filter data to show only one data from a stand alone table. I'm planning to have only one data in the table, but I want to add filter in case multiple data entered in the table. I'm thinking if I use max([OBJECTID]), the newest data will show up in the report. But I can't make it happen. 

I added [Layername.OBJECTID] = ?OBJMAX to the filter in the Query Properties and created OBJMAX parameters: Expression Type, Result Type Number (16bit integer) and Value Max([OBJECTID]). 

It's not working. Can anyone tell me how to do this?
