Upload .csv point format
-
You can select any fields you like as 'X' and 'Y' in your CSV file -- they don't need to be named as such. However you do need to have the CSV file in the same coordinate system as the map you are uploading to. Essentials will not do this conversion for you. So for example, if your coordinates are in lat long and your map is in UTM, you will need to do this conversion prior to importing the data. Cheers,

Hello,
We just upgraded one of our customer's sites to Essentials 3.7 and Silverlight viewer 1.4. At the prior version we had installed for them, Essentials 3.5.1, the CSV upload worked as you described - any 'X' and 'Y' columns and in the coordinate system/units of the map (our map is in Web Mercator, so units were meters).
But now at Essentials 3.7, CSVs in meters are not drawing in the correct location whereas CSVs in decimal degrees are. I just confirmed that our map is still in Web Mercator and meters, so I don't understand what's going on. Is this a bug in 3.7? I'm trying to finalize the documentation for the customer, so your prompt assistance is greatly appreciated! =)
