Help in creating calculated fields

Hello, can anyone point me to some help in how to create calculated fields in the Report Designer? I would like to carry out some basic functionality i.e. calculating rates before trying some more advanced functions, but would be grateful for some direction how to do this. (i.e. which language is this function using?) Thanks Wendy

  Hi Wendy,

   

  The Geocortex Report Designer uses Active Reports behind the scenes.  The language used to define calculated fields in Active Reports is C#.  Active Reports contains online documentation which can provided details on how these fields are used.   This might be a good starting point: http://www.datadynamics.com/Help/ActiveReports6/ActiveReports6_start.html?http://www.datadynamics.com/Help/ActiveReports6/arHOWCreateCalculatedFields.html   Also, take a look at the Parcels Mailing Label report that ships with the out-of-the-box Charlotte demonstration sites to see how we've used a calculated field to represent the address of a parcel.   I hope this help!   Drew.
