I'd like to know when 3.1 is coming out as well.  It seems as though Latitude as fallen behind with upgrades/service packs and fixing bugs.  I have reported several bugs in version 3.0 and I was expecting version 3.1 to resolve a couple of the issues.  I was told over a month ago they would be releasing version 3.1 "fairly soon".  I've found bugs in the Web ADF 3.0 version in regards to the DataLinkSQl ignoring the Distinct option in the query, The Feature Hyperlinks command launches the summary report into another window but does not provide the Feature Hyperlinks and there was another Bug I found as well but I can't remember what it is.   So I think Someone must have quit at Latitude because there seems to be a big drop in the level of service and the frequency of the updates/service packs.  I know they mentioned during their Web conference they would start focusing on their other products and start moving away from the Web ADF platform but come on, I purchased the software just prior to the Flex Sample being available and I'm still building the WEB ADF version.  I'm sure I'm not the only one developing in Web ADF!  Give us an update Latitude!

    Hello,

I'm probably the best person to address questions surrounding the upcoming Geocortex Essentials releases and the inclusion of defect resolutions.  I have been away for the past week so I appreciate your patience.

Geocortex Essentials 3.1 is currently released in beta.  If you would like to get your hands on 3.1 prior to the final release please contact your account manager and he/she will make the arrangements.

We're working towards the 3.1 final release and anticipating announcing its availability sometime in the week of October 25th.  The products team is currently resolving issues and QA is regression testing the new functionality.  When we are satisfied with the new functionality, and when the currently prioritized issues have been resolved we will cut and deliver 3.1.

3.1 introduces the new security feature for our REST Elements, and it also introduces a new distributed architecture that centralizes the storage of site configuration files and security configuration enabling Geocortex Essentials sites to be hosted behind a load balancer (to optimize for cloud-based deployments, for example).  Due to these architectural changes, we allocated a larger portion of time towards testing with the beta.

No, nobody has quit at Latitude.  I appreciate your concern and I can assure you that our development staff is focused.  We are, as always, balancing the need to maintain and build functionality which ensures the continued success of our customers with the need to invest in future technologies which will ensure the future success of Latitude and our customers.

I would also like to mention that just last week we released Geocortex Essentials 2.4 - a Web ADF centric release targeted at ArcGIS Server 9.3 that introduces 5 major new Web ADF features.  These new features have been ported to Geocortex Essentials 3.1 so customers using ArcGIS Server 10 will be able to make use of them.  We are also currently working on a 2.5 release which will contain even more new Web ADF features that will also be included in an upcoming 3.2 release.  While we are working on our upcoming Silverlight Viewer and our REST-centric release, we are continuing development and maintenance with Geocortex Essentials Web ADF Elements.

To make sure you have the latest information about our release plans and schedule, I would recommend attending our frequent "(http://www.geocortex.com/learn/index.html) Road Ahead " webinars.

I would like to specifically address the issues mentioned below ("DataLinkSQl ignoring the Distinct option in the query", and "Feature Hyperlinks command launches the summary report into another window but does not provide the Feature Hyperlinks").  These have been filed into our tracking database as issues "GE-586" and "GE-587" respectively (note GE-587 was tracked using ID 2383 in our historic tracking database).  They are both currently scheduled to be resolved prior to the release of 3.1 final (and are therefore two of the issues prohibiting 3.1's current availability).

If you happen to recall the other issue you have discovered and since forgotten, please let us know.

Finally, I will provide some insight in to our development plans for the "fully-cooked" Flex Viewer.  We are actually currently developing two productized viewers built on our REST technology: Geocortex Viewer for Flex and Geocortex Viewer for Silverlight.  We are aiming to deliver both viewers, along with corresponding server-side technology allowing configuration of them, by the end of the year.  I can guarantee that by the end of this year we will release the Geocortex Viewer for Silverlight (version 1.0); however, it is possible that the release of the fully productized Geocortex Viewer for Flex may follow shortly behind.

Thank you both for your interest and concerns.  We sincerely value your feedback and will continue striving to ensure the current and future quality of our products.
