Overview map map extent in print maps

Is there a way to set the map extent of the overview map for print map templates (not the overview map on a viewer)?  I am using the Esri street maps service for the overview map and it zooms out to the full (world) extent on printed maps.  I've tried zooming in to an area of interest through the Manager but it doesn't stick when I click on the apply details button.

  I heard from Latitude Geographics that this is a known bug.  The person I was talking to mentioned they were working on getting this fixed.
