3.8 upgrade warning for Asset.config

I had some errors with attempts to upgrade to 3.8, and after troubleshooting with Malcolm I would like to pass those on to you.

1. At 3.8 there are changes to the Asset.config file in the Settings folder of Geocortex Application Services.  If you have a modified Asset.config file like I do, replacing the file with a backup copy will cause errors.  You will need to add any custom connection strings, role providers, and membership providers into the new Asset.config file.

2.  I was getting an error at times when I tried to configure Application Services in the post install.  I had always used my server name to configure.  Malcolm suggested using localhost, and that also cleared up some problems.

3. My asynchronous printing was working, but not firing email notifications.  Essentials must have permissions to write to, in my case, the Pickup directory used by SMTP.  I'm sure this could vary by server.

I'm hopeful that some folks at Latitude could provide some more insight and documentation for others.  In the meantime, I hope I've given everyone fair warning!
