Drawing Tools Feature Labels

Hi

Currently to enable feature labels as part of the Drawing Tools (Text) you need to enable the layers as searchable as part of the global search. I could not find this information in the documentation and had to ask a fellow user how to enable this feature.

As I do not use the global search functionality due to its poor search capability this does not create any issue directly for me but for other users having to enable a layer for global search in order to allow feature labels to be used may create some problems.

How about having a separate option as part of the fields control to allow the ability to enable feature labels on a specific field. It would also be valuable to also have the option to be able to create a feature label on a selection of features.

  I agree. Global searching should be a separate configuration compared to using a field for labelling
