Selection suggestion

Suggestion: selecting and un-selecting features is one of the most confusing things for users. Difference between results and selections is not clear. Suggest that identify tool selects features by default > Results display in left panel > hovering on a feature highlights it more brightly. Also, need quicker way to unselect. Also, the ability to interactively add and remove features from the current set, like with a shift + click. Thanks.
