Measure Radius tool
It would be nice to have a measure tool that Measure Radius
-
So it's been 9 years! Should we assume that this would never be a thing, or has it simply gone into the void of upgrades?
Or does anyone know if they eventually did implement a radius measurement tool? (Silverlight viewer, HTML viewer, Studio Web)1 -
Hi Denis Lapierre it will help us if you could expand a bit on the use case here. I'm inferring you're looking to measure radius of a circle polygon drawn by a user on a map, is that accurate?

Hi Gareth, yes that is correct.
The expected behavior would be that a user clicks on the map and a circle polygon (similar to the area measurement tool) would be drawn on the map as well as a line geometry for the radius and follow the mouse pointer. But instead of being drawn from a diameter perspective, the point clicked on the map would be the center of the circle and the measure would be that of the radius.
I'm adding an image of a tool I built in another application just to give you an idea. I'm not looking to reproduce this, you already have a tool to measure area but not for radius.

PS: Also, I just realized that this post was put under Geocortex Essentials, but I am talking abour the VertiGIS Studio Web software. (Think you can move the post to the proper category?)
PPS: I thought even maybe to contribute to VertiGIS into building it? See post: https://community.vertigis.com/hc/en-us/community/posts/6871065475730-Contributing-to-VertiGIS-development-

Gareth,
It worked this way in GeoCortex.

@... my users would like this functionality in VertiGIS. What they do is draw a circle from the point (click is the center of the circle) in which they clicked and draw this circle to encompass features that are variables in their decision. Once the circle is drawn they then use the measure tool to determine distance which plays a role in their decision.
