Editing through a Data Connection

I've just had a question from a potential client of Geocortex Essentials.  He was wondering if it is possible to edit through a data connection.

For example, if I've set up an Essentials Site in Essentials Manager which has a Data Connection to a (non-spatial) Oracle or SQL Server database and the connection string uses credentials that have read-write permissions on that database, if I build the Essentials editing tools into my application, can these tools include the ability to edit data in tables in the Oracle or SQL Server database?
