Clearing Out Workflow selection

I don't think it's possible but I'm also new to coding (read I don't know much so it very well could be possible) and trying to feel my way through the process.

I have several workflows setup to query students/parcels/schools/etc.  One feature I would like if possible is for all selected features to be removed from the selection prior to beginning another task.  The issue is that if the user fails to clear out the results selection and proceeds to a new workflow, then the selection remains (if not only just a yellow selection dot).  All of my workflows have a zoom to features setup at the end and this isn't possible if the selection remains.  I have the "Clear Collection First" argument set to True but this only helps if I re-run the workflow to dump the previous results; it doesn't clear out a second workflow's result selection.

Is there a master "clear all" function that I can add into my workflows that'll do this?

  You could add a Run External Command activity to your workflow and call the "ClearSelection" command.
