Setting permissions using a script

Hi.

 

We are using a development-site to build all off our sites and then by simple copy/paste moves the site to our production-site. However all permissions set on the site is removed/unvisible when the site is opened in production. The windows domain names are not the same (if that's the issue), but is there a way to fix this without having to set all permissions manually? Esri has different scripts for create datastores, serivces and setting permissions/security using a script, so...?

  GeoCortex Essentials Integrated Windows Authentication uses  Microsoft’s Active Directory SID (Security Identifier) to assign site object permissions to respective AD-Groups / Users. 

   

  If I understand your question correctly… 

   

  Since the 2 environments are on different domain the SIDs that identify users/groups from AD will be different.  You will have to modify the permissions block in the Site.xml file for each object where permissions have been applied to the new corresponding environment's SID.
