Hello, i need to show the layer list by default when the map loads. how can i achieve this?

  You can create a simple startup workflow.  Using RunExternalCommand: SwitchToLayerView.

  If you are not using a Home Panel, just set your Data Frame to Open by Default in your Viewer. This should default to the Layer List.
