Clear feature cluster points from workflow?

Is there a way to clear cluster points so they do not show when exporting a map?

 

Before calling ExportMap on the enelope I've tired the following:

• A variety of clear commands and hiding the layer.
• Since the cluster points disappear when the maptip is closed I tried deactivating/hiding/disabling maptips and maptip view.
• RemoveClusterLayer but I do not know what string should be entered for the parameter.  I've tried the layer name and ID.

Cluster points always persist in the map export.
