Editing/Adding data from excel/XLSX

We have not yet implemented allowing users to add data, but I see where users can add data by uploading an excel file with lat/long coordinates.    Is there anyway to do this in an editing environment where the new point that that has to be edited is provided in an excel spreadsheet.

  Hi,

   

  Currently, the only way to add points on the map is through the viewer Upload Data tool. Can you expand on what you mean by editing environment?
