Copy/Cut & Paste Feature to Move to a new location in Map

I have bookmarked 3 extents in different parts of our City. I want to be able to move an existing asset from one extent to the other. Editing geometry and clicking and dragging is not efficient so is there a way to cut/copy the feature, go to a different extent and paste that feature in it's new location?

  I've done this with point features before. I imagine doing it with line and polygon features could be considerably more complicated.
