setLayerVisibility doesn't behave like it should?

I've created a dropDownList with layers.  The user chooses one, and I use Switch to determine what was selected and to then turn on that layer.  This works, but it is not changing it on the Layer List, so when someone goes to do an Identify, it picks results from the original layer, not the one I made visible.  Is there an activity to change the layer list??

  I just retested this and I am seeing the layer list update with the changes to layer visibility. How is your map service structured?

  These are feature services, since I'm creating a viewer that needs Heat Maps.?

  I tried adding them as map services as well, but it really messes things up...  I hadn't realized, but the map was introduced to top Police brass, even though I'm still working on it - so need to get this cleaned up soon!?
