Monitoring ArcGIS Server on Amazon Web Service Server
Can Analytics be configured to monitor ArcGIS Server on an Amazon Web Service (AWS) server, or other cloud server? I tried adding it to Analytics and receive this message: "An error occurred while trying to connect to the remote Server. Please ensure that the given Server's firewall settings allow access for remote connections to WMI. If the problem persists please see the documentation for more information." I've checked the documentation, and I don't see much about adding/configuring ArcGIS Servers in the Cloud.

Hi Jennifer,
Remote server monitoring is not possible due to the WMI and windows login requirements. AWS and Azure machines are behind a series of restraining firewalls that Analytics requests can not penetrate, eliminating that possibility.
You should, however, be able to monitor the ArcGIS Services REST endpoint, and pull logs from that as well. I recommend configuring only the ArcGIS Server, not the Server. You won't get performance information (CPU, RAM, etc) but you should be able to get service statistics, usage information, etc.
Thanks,
