Fully Qualified Domain Name alias?

Setting up servers in Analytics 1.4.2. I am using the AWS EC2 private ip of each machine for the FQDN. Now all of them show up as "172" in the status reports. Is there a way to force a unique FQDN or alias? Machine name isn't good because they aren't always unique.

  Hi Michael,

   

  Specifying a unique FQDN or alias is not currently possible. This has been reported as a bug, BUG 20529.

   

  The best solution currently available is to set the Services URL to the FQDN or alias that you want to see in the menu when you configure this resource. This is only available with Remote Monitoring configurations, an Agent installation detects the service URL through some probing and that behaviour can not be adjusted.
