Workflow as an embed able standalone product
Non planifiéeIt would be nice to have the ability to run a workflow outside of a map, as a standalone product that could be embedded in other web pages like a widget.
Use case - user navigates to city web site and enters their address into a workflow. Server side workflow queries the DB on tells user what day their trash will be picked up.

This would be amazing to see. We have alot of departments that don't necessairly need a map just the data. An example is our finance department doesn't care where the property is on a map they just want to know its owner. The map just adds a bit of extra complexity. But it we could embed a WF directly into the pages HTML it would work wonders.
There's nothing to stop us from just writing the JS to do it ourselves, but a workflow may be quicker.

It's possible now - just use web and a blank template. Add only a workflow. You may need to add some looping logic to make sure the form persists.

Jake Brown can you go into more detail with how this works?

Hey everyone
We've got an example of the approach Jake is describing in our Government VSW demo app: https://demos.apps.vertigisstudio.com/web/?app=92b5e7caf74d41cb96e4f9745c46b6f9
The use case we have in mind is a Property Search tool that doesn't show the map and only a form to enter search details.
Use the 'swap layout' to switch to the property search layout:

The layout looks like this:

You could have a VSW viewer with a startup workflow that presents a form, and then embed that into a page.
Stats Canada have a great implementation of a VSW app embedded here: https://www12.statcan.gc.ca/census-recensement/2021/dp-pd/dv-vd/cpdv-vdpr/index-eng.cfm
This could easily be a more simple workflow form interface.

Thank you @.... I will be looking into deploying a solution using this form only approach very soon. I hope to share positive results soon!

Just to follow up, I used the outlined steps above and came up with a workflow for members of the public to find and identify their network availability options. See it at brant.ca/connection The tool only works with local County addresses (eg 26 Park ave) but it serves our use case well!
The only drawbacks are the WF + report take a little while complete. I am thinking this might be caused by client side processing..0
